Some things never change and some are impossible to beat. Like always, IIM- Ahmedabad has once again emerged the winner! This premiere institute has topped the list of the business schools in India.
According to a survey conducted by Business World and Research agency Synovate, IIM Ahmedabad is the No. 1 B-school, while IIM Calcutta is India's No. 2 B-school. Xavier Labour Relations Institute or XLRI is pegged at No. 3; IIM-Kozhikode is ranked at No. 4. NITIE Mumbai is ranked at No. 5.
Business World, a leading business magazine, conducts B-school Rankings every year. In all 111 Institutes were covered in the objective survey, while a total of 50 institutes were covered in 'perceptual survey'.
Some of the leading B-schools like IIM Bangalore, IIM Lucknow, BIMTECH (Greater Noida) and a few IIT B-schools did not participate in the ranking exercise.
Some interesting trends came to light during this survey. A lot of B-schools across all tiers have increased student intake - mostly IIMs because they now have to admit underprivileged as part of government quotas. Some other institutes like Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, and SPJIMR have raised intake to account for the growing demand. As student intake increases, so does the infrastructure. IIM-Indore, IIM-Calcutta and IIM-Lucknow are doing it in a big way.
As per the report, some premieres B-schools are opening multiple campuses to cater to the nearly 240,000 students who seek admission into a B-school every year.
This survey also showed us that despite a shortage of faculty, the placement season is picking up.

Join any B School but don't ruin your life by joining United world. They take almost 10 lacs but most of them are not placed. Raddi atmospher….only politics. No one should spoil their life joining there . Already their hyderbad branch is closing down
